Lake Orion topped Pontaic Northern and moved one step closer to another playoff berth with a 28-6 victory on homecoming night.
Cortez McKinley scored two first half touchdowns before leaving the game with a bruised knee. His status for next week’s showdown at Clarkston is unknown after he was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
A.J. Palko led LO, eclipsing the 100-yard mark and scoring a touchdown in the second half. Branden Oakes capped the scoring for the Dragons, who never trailed.
With the win, Lake Orion improves to 5-2 overall and 5-1 in the OAA Red. They can get at least a share of the league title with wins in the final two weeks.
