Three incumbents were re-elected to the Clarkston City Council in the Nov. 5 election, David Marsh, with 140 votes, 34.57 percent of the total; Jason Kneisc, 133 votes, 32.84 percent; and Scott Reynolds, 128 votes, 31.60 percent – 405 votes were cast, including four write-ins.
Former Mayor Joe Luginski was elected to a one-year term, with 135 votes. Rick Detkowski resigned the seat earlier this year. Appointed to fill in was former Mayor Sharron Catallo, who did not run in the election.
Voters approved all four Clarkston City Charter amendments on the ballot. Charter Amendment 1, Restrictions Concerning Officers, was approved 106-91, 53.81 percent approval; Proposed Charter Amendment 2, Zoning Board Of Appeals, 134-58, 69.79 percent; Proposed Charter Amendment 3, Independent Audit, 127-68, 65.13 percent approval; and Proposed Charter Amendment 4, Board Of Review, 133-65, 67.17 approval.
Voter turnout was 24.67 percent, with 204 voters casting ballots out of 827 registered. General voter turnout in Oakland County was 19.90 percent.
