The elementary English as a Second Language (ESL) program in Lake Orion recently held an ELS Carnival at Waldon Middle School, so families with children in the program could meet new people and the children could get together for an end-of-the-year celebration.
The program has families, including families from Japan, Germany and Mexico associated with the automobile companies, from over 26 different countries participating. Teachers Julie Ann Farmer and Paula Kotrba travel to the eight Lake Orion elementary schools and work with children from other countries (ESL students).
Children in grades K-5 take part in the program, which is growing in Lake Orion.
