Ferndale seniors do lunch in Oxford

A contingent of fun-loving senior citizens from Fashionable Ferndale visited Oxford last week to have lunch and tour the downtown.
Two buses carrying 27 seniors arrived in town on a day trip arranged through Ferndale Recreation and Senior Services.
They specifically came to have lunch at Victoria’s Delights, a popular downtown bistro.
‘Another senior center (in West Bloomfield) actually recommended the restaurant,? said Sue Maggetti, a senior aid. ‘I think we’ll be back because we really enjoyed the lunch.?
‘The food was excellent and the help was wonderful,? said Valerie Kitchen, a member of the senior group.
After lunch, the seniors toured the downtown, visiting the eclectic mix of specialty shops.
Each senior was given a map of the downtown and a community guide courtesy of the Oxford Area Chamber of Commerce.
‘I especially liked the antique stores,? said Pat Beday.
A&A Flowers and Gifts generously gave each of the visiting seniors a free red rose.
‘I thought the florist was very nice,? said Kathie McKnight. ‘It’s a charming little town.?
‘I enjoyed all the nice shops and the wonderful people here,? said Dorothy Bartush. ‘Everybody’s so friendly and nice.?
‘I think a lot of people are missing out on something,? noted Connie Gadd.
‘I could have bought a lot of things,? Betsy Kowalec said. ‘I’ll probably come back.?
