Fireworks funds total $25,000, Cyrowski says

After all the checks are cashed, the Lake Orion Fireworks should have about $25,000 in donations this year.
‘We’re right at our goal,? said Carl Cyrowski of Lake Orion Fireworks. ‘We’re waiting for a few more checks to come in that we’ve been promised.?
Cyrowski said the show this year went off without a hitch, and was a little shorter than usual because the fireworks association decided to use the money to buy more elaborate fireworks.
‘It was a little less time, but everyone who saw it said it was the best year ever,? he said. ‘We spent money on higher ones and more triples.?
Cyrowski said donation envelopes sent out in The Lake Orion Review again this year brought in more than last year’s $11,000 envelope donation total.
‘I don’t have a final tally (on the envelopes), but it’s better than last year,? he said. ‘This is a show for the people, and they pay for it.?
Cyrowski said a lot of area communities had to cut their fireworks shows this year because they didn’t have money in their municipal budgets.
‘We got lots of business donations for the fireworks this year as well,? he said.
Cyrowski said the Fireworks Breakfast was a contributing factor to this year’s success.
‘We had four volunteers signed up, and we ended up with 20,? he said. ‘About 461 people attended.?
