Golf outing to benefit football program

The seventh annual Alumni, Fans and Friends Dragon Football Golf Outing will be held at Copper Hills Golf Club on Friday, June 22 at 9 a.m.
Proceeds from the event directly benefit the Dragon football organization throughout the district. With budget cuts this year, the PEPP Club (Parents Encouraging Players Positively) will be helping to offset even more expenses, according to Kris Murphy.
‘We’re very interested in trying to get ‘more community members and ‘everyday citizens? who may not have a boy in football’more involved in activities related to the team,? Murphy said. ‘Obviously we fill the stands on Friday nights, but it would be’awesome to get people out to the golf course, or attending our Green and White Night on August 10th or watching summer camps or sending off the varsity team as they head to Sauk Valley for four days in August.?
Those interested in helping out can do so in a number of ways.
To golf in the event, which includes 18 holes with a cart, a hot dog at the turn, a buffet luncheon afterwards and many great prizes, costs just $95 per person.
Golfers can sign up as individuals or as teams of four for the scramble-format event.
In addition, Murphy said the PEPP club is still looking for hole sponsors. Some sponsorships even include half-page or full-page ads in the 2007 Fall Football Program. Keepsake plaques are included for the hole sponsors.
All donations are tax-deductible as well.
