Head Coach Terry Kelly was pleased with his team this week after they rebounded nicely with an excellent showing at the Bobcat Classic in Bay City on Monday, May 10.
Oxford finished second out of 20 teams and had two golfers, Doug Piesko and Josh Hosking, place in the top three overall during the tournament..
Piesko tied for first overall with a 78, while Hosking finished tied for second with a 79.
‘It was a pleasant surprise to travel to Bay City and bring home another trophy,? Kelley said. ‘We didn’t know what to expect going up there. We don’t see those teams in this part of the country…there were some pretty good shooters, but it is tougher down here.?
In their duel match against Lapeer East, the Wildcats won 157-189 behind Piesko’s round of 37 and Nolan Chapman’s 39.
Up next for Oxford is a home match against Linden on Wednesday, May 12.
