Good taste, good cause

Fines wines. Imported beers. Gourmet coffees. Delicious foods.
It was a delightful evening that dazzled the senses, enriched the palate and raised money for a worthy local institution.
The Oxford Wine & Beverage Company (11 S. Washington Street) hosted its annual Fall Wine & Beer Show Oct. 20 at Independence Village of Waterstone.
Sixty-five oenophiles spent the night sampling and learning about wines from Australia, Germany, France, Italy, America and Canada. A selection of premium beers was also available from England, Ireland, Scotland, Germany and America.
Gourmet coffee accompanied the adult beverages along with a scrumptious appetizer buffet prepared by the talented kitchen staff of Independence Village.
The event raised $1,300 for Crossroads for Youth, a non-profit organization located at 930 E. Drahner Road in Oxford Twp.
Crossroads for Youth provides troubled children with a supportive, positive environment in which they can learn how to succeed in life. Crossroads is guided by the belief that ‘every child deserves a chance.?
