The Goodrich lady harriers topped the Genesee Area Conference cross country meet Oct. 16 at Linden County Park.
The boys? team placed fifth ahead of New Lothrop, Lake Fenton, and Lakeville. The girls? team took first, out- running Byron, Lake Fenton, and Mt. Morris. The girls? team took first for the final league standings with a 7-0 record, while the boys? took fifth with a 5-3 record.
The Martians girls? team had the first four finishers and seven in the top nine. The team only had 16 points, easily coming ahead of second place winner Byron High School. This is the team’s ninth straight league championship. Goodrich’s Taylor Pogue finished first with a time of 19:51. Mary Haiderer finished second, Kayla Jung was third, Chelsea Belanger came in fourth, and Sunney Mahalak took sixth.
