Yes, there is a Holly Hill Bakery and you can find it in Dearborn. The gingerbread creation by Susanne Corker of Lake Orion is being displayed in the Gingerbread Village at the Festival of Trees (at the Ford Conference Center) through Nov. 28.
According to Corker, the house will be sold at the festival with proceeds benefiting Children’s Hospital of Michigan.
Corker is a two-time recipient of the ‘Gold Award? for her gingerbread designs at the festival.
The bakery is made out of 100 percent edible items including gingerbread, fondant, gelatin sheets, non-toxic gold dust, sprinkles, royal icing, coconut, edible ‘wafer? sheets, paste food coloring and sugar cones.
Corker said she spent over 50 hours working on her creation.
Visitors to the Festival of Trees will see a ‘brick? gingerbread facade and ‘stone? foundation.
Details include a bakery entrance, corner porch and bay window with tiny ‘pastries? and upstairs ‘living quarters? with decorated tree. The side entrance has a coffee shop and outside ‘dining? patio.
The back entrance has a decorated delivery entrance. The bakery’s streetside shows a bakery ‘window? with tiny pastries.
To compliment the building, Corker has designed landscaping that has walkways, a patio, trees, shrubbery, a snowman, snow, roping, wreaths and bows.
