Clarkston native Tim Washe, who was set to play his second season of junior hockey this season with the Nanaimo Clippers of the British Columbia Hockey League, has instead opted to start his NCAA Division I career with Western Michigan University.
The BCHL has not started its season due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Washe will join older brother Paul, WMU’s senior captain, with the Broncos.
“Tim is a very strong skater and, like his brother, is very strong on faceoffs,” said Western Michigan coach Andy Murray.
