LAX drops two more, still looking for a win

The varsity lacrosse team came oh so close to notching their first ever victory against Lake Orion on Thursday, April 21.
The Dragons were able to outlast the Wildcats 9-6, handing Oxford it’s fourth loss of the season.
Sophomore Piper Thaler was the dominant player in the game, scoring five goals for Oxford. Junior Garrett Kovacic had the other lone goal for the Wildcats.
‘The guys played real well, it was the best game we played all year,? varsity lacrosse head coach Joe Zmikly said. ‘We played real hard, we won ground balls, we won the physical battles.?
Zmikly added his team played tough against a solid Lake Orion squad.
‘We lost on the scoreboard, but we played well and hopefully it is something we can build on. If we play like that things will happen,? Zmikly said.
The Wildcats lost 13-3 to Royal Oak on Tuesday, April 19.
Oxford is now 0-5 on the season. Their next chance to capture their first win comes against Heritage on Thursday, April 28.
The Wildcats game against Swartz Creek on Tuesday, April 25 was postponed due to the weather.
