Clarkston Everest Collegiate Boys Varsity Soccer claimed the school’s first ever Catholic High School League Intersectional 2 title with a 8-1 win over Shrine last Thursday.
Isaac Cross led in the game with two goals and one assist. Mark Cross had two goals. Luke Walker had one goal and two assists. James Schmitt, Edgar Sanchez and Luke Marshall scored one goal each in the game.
The Mountaineers opened the week with a 4-1 win over Austin Catholic on Sept. 27.
They advance to the CHSL championship for the first time in school history today (Wednesday, Oct. 5). They play University Liggett at Detroit Catholic Central at 5 p.m.
Everest Collegiate Girls Varsity Volleyball defeated Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes, 3-1, on Sept. 28.
Everest Collegiate Varsity Football lost to Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School on Saturday, 15-8. The Mountaineers scored on a touchdown and 2-point conversion in the third quarter. The Mountaineers (3-3, 2-1 Catholic League Intersectional 2) host Our Lady of the Lakes on Friday. Kick off is 7 p.m.
Everest Collegiate Girls Cross Country competed in the second CHSL Jamboree at Hudson Mills, Sept. 28.
The varsity team finished in third place in their division.
The top five runners for Everest were sophomore Erica Walker in 18th place in the time of 21:09.5; junior Eve Herrgott, 41st, 22:18.3; senior Stephanie Suran, 49th, 22:31.2; sophomore Natalie Cross, 67th, 23:30.7; and senior Alyse Felix, 69th, 23:36.2.
The JV team finished in first place. Sophomore Olivia Leahy led the team of six with a 16th place finish in the time of 23:45.3. Senior Jessie Burns finished in 22nd place in the time of 24:05.2; sophomore Abigail Legg, 57th, 26:45.8; senior Audrey Stafford, 79th, 29:08.7; senior Mary Pearson, 83rd, 30:03.5; and sophomore Ella Wilborn, 84th, 30:34.5.
The runners host the CHSL Cardinal Division Jamboree on Thursday. Then, they head to the 38th Annual Gabriel Richard Invite, Oct. 15.
