Lioness Club hosts pantry drive to benefit Ronald McDonald House

It’s a place that offers relief and tries to make life a little easier for families that are coping with a seriously ill child, and now the Ronald McDonald House is getting a little help of their own.
The Lake Orion Lioness Club is teaming up with the house, according to Lioness President Kathryn Dewey, for their spring project.
‘You treat (the Ronald McDonald House) like your own home, but they don’t have the wherewithal to keep supplying the food,? said Lake Orion McDonald’s owner Jack McMahon, who also owns the McDonald’s in Oxford, at Baldwin and I-75 in Auburn Hills, and at Joslyn and Walton in Pontiac.
That’s where the Lioness Club comes in, as the house needs pantry items, dry goods and cleaning supplies, and the group is going to help them get it by collecting donations through May.
According to Dewey, the Lionesses have set up donation boxes at McMahon’s McDonald’s in Lake Orion and Auburn Hills, the Lake Orion Downtown Development Authority (DDA) office and The Review office.
‘Whatever we can do and the more we can take in really helps,? she said. ‘Please stop by one of the locations and make a contribution.?
