Kaz Mamon, known around the area for his charity motorcycle rides, will be at it again with his annual ‘Mamon Ride? this weekend to raise money for the Fowler Camp for special needs kids.
The local starting point for Saturday’s ride is the Post Bar on M-24 in Auburn Hills.
‘Break the Rules? will be playing at the Post from 9 a.m. to noon, when the ride up M-24 to the camp will begin.
Mamon expects somewhere in the neighborhood of 1,000 riders and those interested in participating can visit www.mamonride.com for more information.
A complimentary breakfast will also be served at the Post, while Country Smokehouse will cater lunch at the camp.
Performers throughout the day at the camp will include ‘Badd Habitz,? ‘The Sax Maniacs,? ‘Wild Fire,? and William Reynolds.
Mamon said the Fowler Camp, celebrating their 50th anniversary this year, is ‘one of Michigan’s hidden secrets.?
They will be hosting an open house all day long, and he encouraged people to visit with or without a motorcycle.
Gate admission for the open house is $10. A $20 donation will include the police escorted ride up M-24 as well.
