A 23-year-old Springfield Township man was killed following a single-vehicle crash in the 12000 block of Andersonville Road, 3:38 a.m., April 26.
Christopher James Cooper was pronounced dead by a physician from McLaren-Oakland Hospital after unsuccessful efforts by Springfield Township firefighters to revive him. Deputies and firefighters responded to the crash in the front yard of a residence and found a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado pickup had struck a tree and rolled over.
The truck had been travelling northbound on Andersonville south of Clark Road when the driver lost control, leaving the roadway, and striking a tree.
The driver was trapped inside of the vehicle until firefighters could remove him. The OCSO Crash Reconstruction Unit was called to investigate the crash, in which it appeared the driver was wearing his seat belt.
