Mari Ann K. Staley (Segedi), of Clarkston, passed away Jan. 7, 2024, at the age of 89.
Born and raised in Pontiac and graduate of Pontiac High School, Class of January 1953.
Loving mother of Jeriann (Mark) Blackett and Keith Staley, proud grandmother of Alexandra and Elizabeth, cherished sister of Beverly (the late Jim) Zink and aunt of Karen Miller and the late Larry (Jenny) Zink, dear stepmother of the late Lynne, the late Christine (Bob), and Denise (Stu), step grandmother of Marcos (Jenny), Carlos, Cassandra, PJ (Angie), Megan (Nick), Ben (Svea), Kevin (Andrea), and the late Melanie, step great grandmother of Lilah, Kendall, Hunter, and Scout.
Preceded in death by parents Mathew and Katherine Segedi (Fritzman). Beloved wife of the late Jerry D. Staley, wife of the late Leonard Secrest, and companion of the late Harold Sutherland.
In her free time, Mari Ann loved to bowl and garden. She was an active member in her community and was part of the Eastern Stars of Pontiac Lodge #228 and the Red Hats Luncheons. She was a woman of great faith and regularly attended services at Clarkston United Methodist church for decades.
She will be deeply missed by everyone.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, Jan. 13 at 11 a.m. at Clarkston United Methodist Church, 6600 Waldon Road. Family will receive friends from 9:30-11 a.m. Mari Ann’s ashes will be placed with her beloved sailor Jerry D. Staley at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Coats Funeral Home, Clarkston.
