Marina issue back on board’s agenda

The Orion Township Board of Trustees have placed the Dunaskiss Marina on their agenda for next Monday, after lawyers from the township met with lawyers representing former State Senator Mat Dunaskiss last Friday.
‘We’re going to have an executive session before the meeting and then it’s on our public agenda,? said Township Supervisor Jerry Dywasuk.
Dywasuk encouraged residents to come speak on the issue.
‘I’d say it’s best for them to be there,? he said, noting the meeting is on a special day.
‘A lot of people probably don’t know that we moved the May 7 meeting to April 30 because of the upcoming election.?
Lake Orion Lake Association President Jerry Richards also encouraged attendance at the meeting.
‘It doesn’t make a difference if it’s a marina, gas station or big box store,? he said. ‘We’ve got a non-conforming use that is going to be approved by the board.?
‘From the standpoint of community members protecting their rights, this is an extremely important issue,? Richards added.
