Medical Center offering free flu vaccinations

HealthFirst Medical Center is offering free flu immunizations to those in the community without insurance or hampered by the tight economy.
Dr. Kevin Robertson said the center has about 200 vaccinations to offer.
‘People think the season for flu shots ends around Thanksgiving,? Robertson said, noting its not too late for those that need the immunization to get it.
Robertson added that many people simply cannot afford to miss a couple of weeks of work, and the vaccination is one way to prevent that catastrophe.
He mentioned single parents as one group that could really benefit from the vaccine.
‘The flu season really runs from mid-January to the beginning of February,? Robertson said.
He added that the free vaccinations are for children and adults and will be available while quantities last.
