A 16-year-old Oxford High School Student was allegedly found to be in possession of a concealed weapon on school grounds.
According to the police report written by Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputy John Neph, a four-inch knife was found after Assistant Principal Paul McDevitt made the student empty his pockets after he smelled marijuana on the student.
The student claimed when he changed his pants that morning, he didn’t realize the knife was in his pocket, the report stated.
According to the report, McDevitt told Dep. Neph that the student had been bragging to his friends that he was from Detroit and he would kill anyone at the school that bothers him.
Dep. Neph then transported the student to his grandmother and spoke with her about the incident. She told Neph that the student must have put the knife in his pants after he pulled them out of the dryer that morning. The student then started shouting expletives at his grandmother and at Neph and proceeded to go to his bedroom.
Neph requested a juvenile petition for having a concealed weapon on school grounds.
