OHS student okay following overdose

A 17-year-old male Oxford High School student was transported to Crittenton Hospital in Rochester March 1 for treatment after overdosing on various narcotics, some of which were provided by fellow students.
After being examined by emergency room nurses, it was the determined the victim had taken an unknown heart medication and four antidepressants. He was moved Intensive Care and placed on life support, according to the report filed by Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputy John Neph.
When Neph later met with the victim at the hospital, he ‘was awake and sitting in bed? and stated that he was feeling better.
Following the overdose incident, Neph received a call from the high school that a 17-year-old male student was found in possession of marijuana. This student informed Neph that he sold some marijuana to the victim the night before and that a 15-year-old male student had provided medications to the victim prior to his overdose.
The student who allegedly had the marijuana also told the deputy that there was a 15-year-old female student who was selling Vicodin at school and that she was getting it from her mother who was also a ‘drug addict.?
The 17-year-old student was suspended from the school for being in possession of drugs, according to the report.
OHS officials later informed Neph that the 15-year-old male student mentioned above was telling kids in his class that he took some antidepressants from his mother and that the victim got the pills from him.
According to the report, when Neph interviewed the 15-year-old male, the student told him he took the antidepressants from his mother Feb. 28 with the intention of ingesting them himself at the victim’s home. But he got scared and allegedly gave the pills to the victim, who wanted them and put them in a drawer.
Later, the 15-year-old male and the victim allegedly attempted to purchase some Vicodin from the 15-year-old female mentioned above, but she was not home. So, the pair met with the 17-year-old male mentioned above, allegedly bought some marijuana from him and smoked it.
When Neph later interviewed victim, the teen confirmed what the deputy had already learned and told the officer he took the antidepressants the morning he overdosed, according to the report. The victim also admitted taking a heart medication, but ‘had no idea where he got it from.?
The victim admitted purchasing Vicodin from the 15-year-old female and marijuana from the 17-year-old male, according to the report. He told the deputy that the female’s mother is a drug abuser and knows that her daughter sells Vicodin for extra money.
According to Neph, the victim indicated he had been abusing Vicodin for a long time because of back pain.
When the deputy interviewed the victim’s mother, she stated that her son has a degenerative disc in his spine and is in a lot of pain. She also reportedly told the officer that she knew he was buying Vicodin from the 15-year-old female, ‘but felt he needed it for the pain.?
Because their parents allegedly knew they were using and selling drugs, a child protective services referral was made on the victim and the 15-year-old who was allegedly selling Vicodin.
