After a five-game losing streak, the Oxford varsity basketball team relished in a 62-56 victory over Traverse City West.
The Wildcats out shot Traverse City every period and went 23 for 28 from the line. Ryan Stull led the Cats with 23 points, going eight for 10 with his 2-point shots. Joe Fedorinchik followed closely behind with 14 points and going six for six on the line. Brad Duggan added his own 10 points, and once again led the team offensively with two charges.
“He’s been doing a great job for us this entire year defensively and picking up the charges,” said Coach Steve Laidlaw.
Supporting Oxford with their own skills were Casey Mick with six rebounds and Bryan Mattack with seven assists.
“The team just played well overall,” concluded Laidlaw.
The Wildcats competed this past Tuesday at Lapeer West and return home on Friday to face off yet again with the Fenton Tigers.
