One seat on the Lake Orion Village is currently vacant due to the resignation of Charlotte Patton. She and her husband Jack have moved to Oakland Township.
Patton also represented the council on the parks and recreation committee and the cable commission.
Village officials have 30 days to pick her replacement. The replacement will serve out the rest of Patton’s term.
Interested candidates are asked to submit an application of interest by 4:30 on Aug. 18. An application may be picked up at the village hall on Flint Street.
Council members will discuss the candiadates and may nominate a replacement at the Aug. 23 council meeting. Candidates are encouraged to attend that meeting to answer any questions.
Patton, who lived in the village for 16 years, said she appreciated the opportunity to serve the village and hopes to be able to serve the village in some other capacity in the future.
