Perry, Wojtkowicz dominate in Brandon’s twin bill against Fenton

Pitching was the order of the day when Brandon’s softball team took on visiting Fenton in a May 17 Flint Metro League doubleheader.
The two teams split a pair of 1-0 games, with the Blackhawks winning the opener in an eight-inning contest and the Tigers taking the nightcap in a 12-inning game. Brandon is now 18-7-1 overall and 8-4 in the Flint Metro League.

In the nightcap, Brandon’s Jackie Wojtkowicz had a strong effort on the mound despite picking up the loss, striking out 17 Fenton batters while hurling all 12 innings.
Offensive, the Blackhawks were led by Jessica Liebner, who went 3-for-6, while Brooke Schaefer went 2-for-4.
Due to rainy weather conditions, the Blackhawks only played one game at the Brandon Invitational Saturday, May 14, battling to a scoreless tie with Troy.
Perry was once again dominant, throwing a no-hitter for the Blackhawks. However, the Blackhawks only managed three hits themselves, two by Liebner and one by Chelsea Wengren.
