Robbery at local store
On July 12, there was a retail fraud at the Ace Hardware store located at 6669 Dixie Highway.
A white man, in his mid-late 30s with short, dark brown or black hair, wearing black-framed prescription glasses, a Detroit Pistons “Bad Boys” hat, baggy gray Adidas shorts and an oversized white Adidas T-shirt and black shoes, entered the store at 12:59 p.m. and left at 1:30 p.m.
He walked around the store putting items in a shopping cart. He used that as a cover for putting other items, including DeWalt power tool batteries, a tool bag, and assorted items from the gift department down the front of his shorts.
He stashed the DeWalt box behind the sliding doors in aisle 16 and then abandoned the shopping cart near the front of the store before walking out and going across the parking lot toward Kroger.
