INDEPENDENCE TWP. — Clarkston Varsity Football is heading to the district finals after defeating Romeo last Friday in the district semifinals, 33-10.
The Wolves grabbed the lead in the first quarter with a 10-yard touchdown run from sophomore Griffin Boman and a PAT from senior Eddie Langton.
Clarkston added two more touchdown runs in the second quarter with a 7-yard touchdown from sophomore Lukas Boman and another run from G. Boman, this time on one yard.
Romeo got on the board before the first half finished with a 45-yard field goal, putting the Wolves up 20-3.
Sophomore Brady Collins had a 12-yard touchdown run in the third quarter on a quarterback keeper.
Desman Stephens followed it up with a 56-yard touchdown run, putting the score 33-3.
Collins went 10-for-15 in passing for 148 yards. Senior Brody Kosin caught seven passes for 134 yards.
Stephens was the leading rusher with 134 yards on eight carries. L. Boman rushed the ball eight times for 38 yards and G. Boman rushed the ball 14 times for 47 yards. Langton went 3-for-4 on PATs.
The Wolves (5-5) head to Lake Orion (10-0) this Friday for the district final, 7 p.m. — Wendi Reardon Price
