The annual Lake Orion ‘Hoe Down? will return this month, but it will have a completely different look.
The theme of the event, to be held Saturday, Sept. 15 in the State Farm Insurance/Lake Orion Review parking lot, has been changed to a ‘Fall Family Fun Fest.?
Several family-type activities, including a bounce house, balloons, games and more will highlight the day from noon-4 p.m.
‘We decided to make it a more family friendly activity,? said Downtown Development Authority Special Events Coordinator Mark Kelly.
Hollywood Market will be providing free cider and donuts, the Lake Orion Police Department will offer children’s ID kits and safety brochures, Glitz Salon will be on hand doing hair and the local Cub Scout Pack will have a cookie-making tent.
Several downtown merchants will be offering attractions, including face painting at Ed’s Broadway Gift and Costume, a pottery demonstration at Elements and hot dogs and hamburgers at the Keep Coming Back Club.
For more information on the event, contact the DDA office at (248)693-9742 and look for a special supplement in next week’s Ad-Vertiser.
The Lake Orion Police Department will be holding their annual auction the same day in Suite ‘D? of the DDA Building (formerly occupied by The Cleaning Authority) beginning at 10 a.m.
