Runners take first league meet by storm

ORION TOWNSHIP — Clarkston Cross Country teams finished at the top in the first OAA Jamboree at Lake Orion High School, Sept. 11.
The boys varsity team finished in first place with 35 points.
The Wolves had seven runners place in the top 20 with senior Cayden DeGrendel leading the pack with a second place finish in the time of 16:27.10. Junior Ryan Barnes finished in third place in the time of 16:37.80; junior David Dubeck, eighth, 17:00.10; senior Joshua Ellingsworth, ninth, 17:06.60; freshman Cooper McNaughton, 13th, 17:35.40; senior Kent Wilson, 14th, 17:36.30; and junior Anthony Dubeck, 17th, 17:43.80.
Lake Orion finished in second place with 55 points; Oxford, third, 70; Troy, fourth, 71; Rochester Adams, fifth, 136; and Birmingham Seaholm, sixth, 173.
The boys JV team also finished in first place in the league meet with 27 points.
Eight runners finished in the top 15. Senior Sam King finished in first place in the time of 17:36.40. Senior Jack Tultz finished in second place in the time of 18:03.70; sophomore Miles Foster, sixth, 18:41.80; junior Braden Ryske, seventh, 18:52.10; sophomore Gavin Culloty, 11th, 19:45; freshman Ryan Legg, 12th, 19:47.70; sophomore Max Stokes, 13th, 19:48.30; and sophomore Gavin Peruski, 14th, 19:53.70.
Troy finished in second place with 30 points, Rochester Adams, third, 77; Oxford, fourth, 130; Lake Orion, fifth, 150; and Seaholm, sixth, 152.
The girls varsity team finished in second place with 50 points.
The top five runners were sophomore Addison Brigham in fourth place in the time of 20::22.10; sophomore Avery DeGrendel, fifth, 20:31.50; sophomore Kendal Russette, ninth, 21:01; sophomore Paityn Sweet, tenth, 21:13.70; and junior Sydney Fischer, 22nd, 22:07.
Rochester Adams finished in first place with 48 points; Troy, third, 74; Oxford, fourth, 83; Seaholm, fifth, 101; and Lake Orion, sixth, 130.

The girls JV team finished in first place with 23 points.
Five Wolves finished in the top ten with freshman Kenzie Kramer in second place in the time of 22:55.50; freshman Anna Bohan, third, 23:19.20; senior Lily Miles, fourth, 23:24; freshman Allie Walker, sixth, 24:18.50; and junior Lucy Fabrizio, eighth, 24:23.90.
Lake Orion finished in second place with 67 points; Tory, third, 73; Rochester Adams, fourth, 90; and Oxford and Seaholm, tied at fifth, 128.
The Wolves competed in the Autumn Classic Invite on Saturday.
The boys team finished in fourth place in the red division with 153 points. The top five runners were junior Trent Logan in 15th place in the time of 17:53.1; junior Grant Jurand, 21st, 18:19.1; sophomore Miles Foster, 39th, 18:56.3; junior Braden Ryske, 44th, 19:09.5; and sophomore Gavin Culloty, 60th, 19:31.2.
The boys also finshed in third in the yellow division with 109 points. The top five runners were freshman Zach Reynolds in 16th place in the time of 21:01.5; junior Andrew Wilson, 18th, 21:14.7; sophomore Andrew Brancheau, 27th, 21:41.2; sophomore John Tippett, 33rd, 21:55.1; and sophomore Ryan Derkos, 36th, 21:56.7.
The girls finished in second place in the red division with 85 points. The top five runners were freshman Amelia Garvin in 11th place in the time of 22:12; freshman Kenzie Kramer, 14th, 22:18.4; freshman Audrey Hoang, 19th, 22:39.6; junior Kylie Golub, 21st; 22:43.5; and senior Lily Miles, 39th, 23:30.1.
The girls finished in first place with 18 points in the yellow division. The top five runners were sophomore Kiara Causley led the pack, finishing in second place in the time of 25:04.1; sophomore Hannah Quigley, third, 25:23.6; freshman Ella Parker, fifth, 25:49.4; junior Mathea Marcale, eighth, 26:18.4; and senior Molly Wheeler, 12th, 26:43.4.
Clarkston heads to the Jackson Invitational this Saturday and head to Bloomer Park for the second OAA Red Jamboree on Tuesday, Sept. 24.
