The Lake Orion football squad will play in the new nine-member Oakland Activities Association Red Division.
The division includes Bloomfield Hills Lahser, Clarkston, Oak Park, Pontiac Northern, Royal Oak, Troy, Troy Athens and West Bloomfield.
Gone from league play are Rochester, Rochester Adams, Farmington Hills Harrison and Birmingham Groves, though LO will still match-up with Adams in their lone crossover game in September.
For the first time since 2001, the Lake Orion-Clarkston game will not fall on the last day of the regular season, as the Dragons will travel to Clarkston on Oct. 12, a week before ending their league slate at home against West Bloomfield.
The Dragons open at home against Oak Park on August 24 and host Northern on Oct. 5 in the annual homecoming game.
More shuffling of the league will take place next season after Waterford Mott and Waterford Kettering leave the OAA.
