Totals are in after two events earlier this month, hosted by Darci Seipke Benefit Fund.
On Oct. 6-7, a craft show was held at Canterbury, with over 46 vendors in attendance.
According to Darci’s mom, Pam Seipke, the craft show raised about $2,300.
Due to the success of the event, she added that plans are already in the works to host the second annual craft show in the same location and same weekend (first one in October) in 2008.
Fundraising continued with the silent auction held on Oct. 8 at Kalloway’s in Oxford.
According to Pam, this auction and dinner raised $1,500 to benefit the fund, which helps pay for Darci’s medical expenses (when her health insurance coverage does not).
Darci has battled with Type I Diabetes for over 20 years, a condition that has damaged her kidneys along with causing major eye problems and other issues. According to her mom, Darci is still on the active waiting list for a kidney transplant.
In the meantime, the family is staying continually focused on raising money to help Darci, and has many plans for 2008. These include a bowling outing at Collier Lanes on Jan. 19, a Valentine’s Day dinner dance at Canterbury Castle on Feb. 14, a scrapbooking marathon at Canterbury Castle on March 8 and an April 28 golf outing at Indianwood Country Club.
