Local resident Chuck Griffith takes time for an October photograph with his immediate family, numbering 24 strong, on the bridge in the 5800 block of Clarkston Road. After an accident 30 years ago resulted in the loss of his right hand and forearm, Griffith built the bridge as his first one-handed project. “I often say, ‘If I got my hand back now, I might well forget to use it.’ What could have been considered a tragic event instead causes us to count our blessings and continue to be ever so thankful for everything,” said Griffith.
