Members of the Lake Orion Parks & Recreation Committee hope to buy a new playscape for 5-12 year olds for Atwater Park.
The playscape that’s at the park now is over 20 years old. One slide was removed last summer because it had a large slit in it. The other slide is wearing out.
According to LO Village Manager JoAnn Van Tassel, the name of the company from which the old playscape was purchased can’t be found in any records, so replacement parts can’t be bought.
Committee members plan on going out for bids on the new playscape, ranging from $10,000-$12,000. They’ll be asking that the playscape have a slide, rock climbing wall, horizontal loop ladder, bounce buttons, game panels, roof feature.
