Squarcia named to DDA Board

The Lake Orion Downtown Development Authority announced the appointment of its newest board member, Monica Squarcia.
Squarcia was appointed by Lake Orion Village Council President Bill Siver, and confirmed by Village Council for a term running until Nov. 1, 2009.
She has been a long time volunteer with the Lake Orion Main Street program and is the current Chairperson of the Economic Development Committee. Squarcia is also the branch manager for the Lake Orion National City Bank and serves on the Board of Directors for the Orion Area Chamber of Commerce.
‘We are excited about Monica’s appointment, as her volunteer commitment and community spirit are unparalleled,? said DDA Director Lois Golden. ‘We welcome her experience and knowledge as the DDA continues to implement plans from Amendment 3 of the Tax Increment Financing and Development Plan.?
Squarcia replaces Brad Jacobsen, who stepped down from the DDA Board earlier this year after his successful election to the Oakland County Board of Commissioners.
‘The DDA Board would like to thank Mr. Jacobsen for his many years of dedicated service on the Board of Directors and Main Street Design Committee, and wish him much success in his Oakland County endeavors,? Golden said.
