Swim team breaks more records

The school records continue to fall as the Varsity Boys Swimming team grows more comfortable in the pool. They established five school records in their 106-78 loss to Holly on Thursday, Feb. 4.
‘The meet went really well and I think the boys just keep learning,? said Swim Head Coach Jackie Boswell.
The results were:
In the 200 Medley Relay, Oxford’s A relay of junior Kyle Shick, freshman Zachary Lavender, junior James Walker and Freshman Jarred Butler finished first with a time 1:58.57.
The Wildcats finished fourth and fifth in the 200 Freestyle, with Junior Corey Bell coming in fourth with a time of 2:25.26 and Sophomore Riley McIntosh finishing fifth.
A school record was established in the 200 Individual Medley Butler touched the wall in second with a time of 2:25.53. Sophomore Joey Tasch finished third and Lavender was fourth.
In the 50 Free, Walker’s time of 24.62 placed him second while Junior Dylan Hency came in fourth.
Junior Jake Clark came in second for the Wildcats with 150.05 points in the diving portion. Shick came in third.
Hency established a personal best in the 100 Freestyle with this time of 59.68 to take second for the Wildcats. McIntosh came in fifth.
In the 100 Butterfly, Walker came in second with a time of 1:06.71 and Bell came in fourth.
In the 500 Freestyle, Butler set a school record when he finished in first with a time of 5:32.62. Tasch came in fourth.
The 200 Free Relay saw the Wildcats A Relay of Senior Austin Westmoreland, Clark, Hency and Tasch come in second with a time of 1:47.84.
In the 100 backstroke, Shick finished second for the Wildcats with a time of 1:10.09. Sophomore Daniel Stockard came in fourth and Senior Paul Belmonte was fifth for the Wildcats.
Lavender established a school record in the 100 Breaststroke with his first place time of 1:13.54.
Two school records were set in the 400 Free Relay. The first record was set by the A relay team of Butler, Tasch, Hency and Walker, who finished second with a time of 3:52.67. Butler’s leadoff time of 54.79 established the school record for the 100 freestyle.
