In addition to traditional UV tanning units, The Tan Company is also the Oxford area’s Mystic Tan Headquarters. Mystic Tan is a safe UV-free tanning option for people who are unable to tan or need a tan in a short amount of time.
The way Mystic Tan works is simple ? you step into a booth and are sprayed with a tanning solution that magnetically bonds to your skin evenly without streaking or discoloration. A natural-looking tan develops within 10 hours and can last up to a week with proper skin care.
‘For people who can’t tan or need a quick tan, this is an awesome option,? Martell said. ‘Even people who tan using UV units like Mystic Tan because it takes their tan to the next level. We consider it our Level 4 tanning option.?

As for traditional UV tanning technology, The Tan Company has a total of 10 units (beds and stand-up units ranging from Levels 1 to 3) to accommodate anyone’s individual tanning needs.
The Level 3 (one stand-up and one bed) units help customers ‘jump-start? their tans with a high pressure concentration of UV rays, which results in a ‘deeper, darker, longer-lasting tan,? Martell said.
From there customers move on to the Tan Company’s three Level 2 units (two stand-up and one bed) which further accelerate the tanning process. Customers then move on to the Level 1 units (five beds), which are used to help maintain color and the ‘base tan.?
Although the Tan Company recommends customers progress from Level 3 to Level 1, ‘we guarantee they will get color no matter what level they choose,? Martell said.
‘We change the tanning units? bulbs pro-actively to guarantee our guests the best tan in a short amount of time,? Martell said.
To aid customers in their quest for bronze bodies, The Tan Company offers complete lines of Australian Gold and Swedish Beauty tanning lotions, which accelerate the tanning process by 30 to 40 percent and moisturize the skin.
