INDEPENDENCE TWP. — Clarkston High School senior Ava Tereau was selected for the EXACT 11 International Soccer Program, representing the most elite athletes in the country.
Tereau was chosen from thousands of recommended nominees by numerous college coaches at EXACT College Showcase Camps, further highlighting her impressive capabilities on the pitch.
“I am so honored to be a part of the Exact 11,” Tereau shared. “To me, Exact 11 is more than just a team. It’s a group of girls willing to work hard on and off the field and who share the same love for soccer that I do.
“I believe that the Exact 11 will help me evolve as an athlete and a person. I’m beyond excited to see the great opportunities and experiences Exact 11 will provide.”
Tereau has built a remarkable athletic biography through her dedicated involvement with Liverpool FC-IA Girls 2006 North Oakland Academy team and Clarkston Girls Varsity Soccer Team.
She has played soccer since she was four and her success is the fruit of many years of passion and commitment to the sport, including earning a starting position on her high school varsity team.
Her phenomenal performance and fervor for soccer have not only made her a valuable offensive player for her team but also earned her the opportunity to play D1 soccer at Delaware State University. Ava’s notable achievements include lifting the State Cup in 2020 and securing the second place at the 2021 Presidents Cup.
As part of the program, Tereau will participate in training and compete with professional clubs abroad in an international trip to Barcelona, Spain. This once in a lifetime opportunity offers her a platform to enhance her skills, learn from professional players, and expose herself to international soccer styles and strategies.
