Three-legged dog needs a home

Judging by how quickly and how well she manages to get around, having only three legs has definitely not stopped Layla from living life to the fullest.
The only thing the 2-year-old Labrador Retriever mix needs is a loving place to call home for the rest of her days.
Layla is available for adoption through the Oxford-based K-9 Stray Rescue League. The group’s website is www.dogsaver.org/k9srl and the kennel phone number is (248) 628-0435.
As an 8-week-old puppy, Layla was thrown from the window of a moving vehicle and the impact completely shattered her front left leg.
As a result, her leg had to be amputated, but that hasn’t slowed Layla down one iota as she ran around and greeted people at the K-9 Stray Rescue League’s Wag, Walk & Run fund-raiser held Saturday at Powell Lake Township Park. For event photos, please see Page 24.
A medium-sized dog weighing around 35 to 40 pounds, Layla is very well-mannered and house trained. She loves to cuddle and gets along well with kids and other dogs.
