The Clarkston Equestrian team finished in sixth place in the Michigan Interscholastic Horsemanship Association State Championship at the Midland County Fairgrounds, October 13-16.
The team had some strong rides competing against the best teams in the state, scoring 148 points during the meet. Clarkston Equestrian Team finished the season in sixth place with 148 points.
Clarkston finished as 2022 MIHA Region B Division D Champions during the regional championship at Shiawassee County Fairgrounds, September 30 to October 2.
During regionals, the team took first place in Western Reining, Saddle Seat Equitation, Western Fitting and Showing, Hunt Seat Fitting and Showing and Saddle Seat Pattern. They finished the competition with 237 points, 11 points ahead of Reserve Champion Marine City.
The Clarkston Equestrian Team includes Clarkston High School senior Morgan Bodway riding David and Sis, head coach Abigail Davis and assistant coach Mandy Mollette.
