Tuxedo program benefits LOHS

Voted Michigan’s best formal wear shop for four years running, President Tuxedo offers a little help to local high school students that are stressing out about the cost of prom.
Located at Baldwin Commons in Orion, they offer incentive programs to assist students in make their tuxedo rentals more affordable.
‘Being a locally-based company we truly believe in supporting the schools and the communities that we serve,? said manager Teresa Borck.
According to Borck, it’s not just the students that President Tuxedo is helping out, but through their ‘Earn Bux with a Tux Program? they are also offering assistance to schools.
With this program, once it is set up with the necessary school or school group, $5 from every tuxedo rental will go back to that particular group. Whether you are a band director, advisor of a club or coach of an athletic team, this program can be set-up to benefit your group.
This is actually a new program, Borck said, and President Tuxedo wants schools and students to know that they are always trying to help them.
President Tuxedo also offers exchange programs where they will let a group borrow tuxedos for events such as a fashion show or for costumes in a school play.
For a student looking to get a real deal on a tuxedo, President Tuxedo also offers a prom representative program. Representatives hand out coupons, and if they get seven referrals to come in, they can rent any tuxedo for $8.50 (the cost to cover the cleaning fee).
Once they have saved on their tux, Borck said, they can also make some extra money. For every five additional referrals (over the original seven), they can earn $25.
She said that President Tuxedo’s assistance to students does not end there. If a school will allow it, they can even come in and do fittings on site.
‘We know how active students are these days,? Borck said. ‘We try to make it as easy for them as we can.?
She said that they have a professional sales staff that can give students direction with their choices and help to make sure they get a great fit.
‘There are many different styles and colors,? Borck added. ‘They can really express personality through styles and colors.?
‘Plus, we have the fittings to guarantee fit. You try everything on ? pants, shirts, jackets, shoes, everything.?
President Tuxedo, a locally based company in this area for over thirty years, also has their factory close-by. According to Borck, being this local helps them help a customer find the perfect tuxedo, or even make those last-minute changes, almost right up to the big event.
‘Students take a lot of pride in prom, and we take a lot of pride in our customer service,? said Borck.
