The Clarkston Varsity Football team lost to Lake Orion last Friday during Football for a Cure, 55-21.
The Dragons jumped to a 13-0 lead within the first few minutes, scoring on their first possession as they covered 91 yards in four plays, 66 seconds into the game. The next score came when the Dragons blocked the Wolves’ punt and picked up the ball running into the end zone.
Junior Justin Buchmann scored in second quarter with the first touchdown of the night for Clarkston. A PAT from senior Chris Acevedo put the score, 20-7 with Lake Orion leading with 9:52 remaining in the first half.
Buchmann struck again after catching a touchdown pass from sophomore Mike DePillo in the end zone.
The Wolves final touchdown was made on a 1-yard run by junior Jack Gurn with 3:12 remaining in the game.
DePillo went 10-for-21 for 114 yards. Buchmann caught seven passes for 96 yards.
The leading rushers were Gurn and freshman Ethan Clark. Gurn rushed the ball six times for 35 yardsand Clark carried the ball 20 times for 47 yards. Acevedo was 3-for-3 on PATs.
Senior Dylan Erskine led defense with 13 tackles and one assist. Junior Ayden Brooks had four tackles and four assists. Junior Harry Skinner and sophomore Caleb Stalworth each had four tackles and three assists and freshman Cole Dellinger had four tackles and two assists.
Clarkston (3-5, 3-3 OAA Red) hosts Cass Tech (4-4) on Friday. Kick off is at 7 p.m.
