Santa will be back in town on Saturday, and local youth can visit with him live on television as Orion Neighborhood Television hosts their 20th annual Santa Live! production.
From noon to 1:45 p.m., participants can visit the ONTV studio, located at 698 S. Lapeer Road in the Optim-Eyes plaza, and sit on the jolly old man’s lap.
‘Santa Live! is a tradition in Lake Orion, and this year is the 20th anniversary of the program,? said ONTV Outreach Coordinator Molly Perry. ‘We’re looking forward to making it bigger and better than before.?
Santa’s visitors will be able to make a list (and check it twice) before heading back into the magically-decorated studio to visit with St. Nick.
The visits will all be recorded and shown live on ONTV public access Channel 10, so parents can even press record on their VCR and capture the memory for years to come.
‘It’s better than a picture at the mall because you get see all of their expressions and relive the memories of the visit time and time again,? Perry said.
In fact, she added, some parents have even been able to watch their children grow up through replaying years? past Santa Live!, as some children have attended year after year.
‘There’s no better time than now to start this tradition,? Perry said, ‘especially since this year will be the biggest Santa Live! celebration yet.?
