Who holds the $250,000 ticket?

It might not quite be a gold mine, but someone is sitting on a large chunk of change and doesn’t know it.
Indianwood Junction Party Store sold a $250,000 winning lottery ticket for the drawing on Feb. 19, and, at of press time, no one has come forward to claim the prize.
According to owner Darrell Enneking, the winning numbers are 01-38-42-55-56, with the Gold Mega Ball being 34.
Enneking said that the ticket sold at his store matched the five White Balls, but did not match the Gold Mega Ball, hence garnering the $250,000 prize. Now they just need someone to come forward and claim it.
‘Whoever has it, it’s worth $250,000,? Enneking said, advising that the winner should sign it and put it in a safe place.
‘When you buy one of these things, treat it like you’ve already won,? he added. ‘Don’t shove it in your pants pocket. Treat it like it’s a winning ticket.?
The winner has one year to claim their prize, but Enneking hopes they do it soon as the store that sold the ticket can’t collect their commission until the prize is claimed.
Enneking, who just celebrated his 31st anniversary of Indianwood Junction on Saturday, first started selling lotto tickets 29 years ago. He was the second business, behind L&S grocery store, to have a lottery machine, and currently has the oldest one in Orion today.
Indianwood Junction’s unclaimed winning ticket comes just a month-and-a-half after another locally sold unclaimed ticket, bought at Uncle Boomba’s in Oxford and worth $100,000.
On Feb. 19, there was also a $10,000 scratch-off ticket sold at Meijer’s in Oxford.
‘This is kind of a lucky area to buy lottery tickets,? Enneking said. ‘I know of at least a half-dozen big winners like mine in this area.?
To claim a prize of this magnitude, a winner is advised to contact the Michigan Lottery at (517)373-1237.
Prizes over $50,000 must be claimed at lotto headquarters in Lansing.
