Clarkston Boys Soccer
The Clarkston Boys Varsity Soccer team defeated Lapeer in the first round of the MHSAA Division 1 Boys Soccer District 6 playoffs last Friday, 7-1.
Brayden Cooper led with two goals. Jake Sweet, Adam Perlin, Owen Holloway, Alex Morgan and Oliver Poploskie each scored one goal.
The Wolves played Oxford in the district semifinals on Tuesday. The winner plays the Lake Orion/Grand Blanc winner in the district final at Davison High School on Thursday, 6:45 p.m.
The district champion plays in the semifinal of Regional 2 on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at Novi Meadows Stadium at Novi Parkview Elementary, 5 p.m.

Clarkston Girls Swim and Dive defeated Avondale last Thursday, 140-42.
Scoring points in the individual events were: in the 50-yard freestyle, Caitlin McGivern in first place in the time of 29.61; Estella Emerson, second, 30.98; Olivia Booker, fifth, 34.94; 100-yard butterfly , Sophia Love, first, 1:18.77; Allie George, second, 1:28.26; Jasmine Scott, fourth, 1:37.04; 100-yard freestyle, Bella Popiolek, first, 1:03.94; Emerson, second, 1:08.73; Savanah Ryan, third, 1:09.59; 100-yard backstroke, Jac Ellingsworth, second, 1:21.11; Booker, fourth, 1:33.12; 100-yard breaststroke, Ryan, first, 1:29.34; Gwen Brumbaugh, third, 1:35.43; Scott, fourth, 1:41.65; 200-yard freestyle, Popiolek, first, 2:24.36; Brumbaugh, second, 2:31.63; George, third, 2:35.11; 200-yard IM Women, Tyler Craig, first, 2:46.05; Love, second, 2:46.05; Ellingsworth, fourth, 3:10.44; 500-yard freestyle, Craig, first, 6:18.91; Bayla Zarzycki, second, 6:23.29; and Marion Walters, third, 6:36.91.
For relays, in the 200-yard medley relay the team of Craig, Ella Kurmaniak, Ella Johnson and Avery Gralewski finished in first place in the time of 2:12.14; and the team of Zarzycki, Ryan, McGivern and Emerson, second, 2:18.33. The 200-yard freestyle relay, the team of Johnson, Gralewski, Love and Ella Guzal finished in first place in the time of 1:56.87; the team of Kurmaniak, Walters, Craig and Zarzycki, second, 2:01.61; and the team of Popiolek, Scott, Brumbaugh and Suzanne Valla, third, 2:11.39. In the 400-yard freestyle relay, the team of Guzal, McGivern, Popioleck and Love finished in first place in the time of 4:32.40; and the team of Ellingsworth, Emerson, Walters and Brumbaugh, second, 4:55.63.
For 1-meter diving, Sarah Ostheimer finished in first place with 161.35 points in six dives. Aubree Zeiman finished in second place with 155.10 points; and Maggie Hanigan, third place, 127.25.
The Wolves host Troy Athens this Thursday, 7 p.m.
