Wolves come out swinging on tennis court

The Wolves used their last morning before school began taking on opponents on the court during the Clarkston Invitational, Aug. 26.
The Clarkston Boys Varsity Tennis team went 7-2 against Holly, ruling the doubles court.
Ryan Snudden and Ethan Banyas won the Doubles No. 1 court against Walker Glass and Quintin Monty, 7-6, 6-4. Ethan Banyas and Lane Robison defeated Nate Costigan and Ben Kittle on Doubles No. 2, 6-1, 6-0. Ryan Merritt and Owen Lamz defeated Drake Setera and Ethan Tillier on Doubles No. 3 court, 6-1, 6-0. Christopher Manwaring and Brady Ebling defeated Ryan Tiell and Eric Ranck on Doubles No. 4 court, 6-3, 6-2. Aksel Hopkins and Sam Yerian defeated Joseph MacDougall and Taylor on Doubles No. 5, 8-1.
Aidan Brock defeated Adam Booher, 6-0, 6-0, on the Singles No. 1 court. Griffin Grava defeated Palmer Setera, 6-1, 6-4, on Singles No. 4 court.
Clarkston lost to Brighton, 5-4.
Wins came from Frank Fabrizio on Singles No. 3 with a 6-4, 6-0 over Josh Sata. Snudden and Brock won on the Doubles No. 1 court going 6-1, 6-2 agianst Joe Klonowski and Joshua Cortez; Banyas and Merritt on the Doubles No. 2 court against Ben Anderson and Christian Fitch, 6-4, 6-3; and Robison and Lamz on Doubles No. 3 court agianst Nate Reynolds and Max Topoleski, 6-0, 6-1.
The Wolves won their meet against Rockford, 4-3 at the Novi Quad, August 17.
Three wins came from the Singles courts with Botterill won on the first court against Jack Burns, 6-1, 6-2; Banyas won on the third court against Easton Wurm, 6-4, 6-1; and Lamz on the fourth court against Quinn Geshel, 6-3, 6-3.
Snudden and Banyas defeated Micah Frost and Pete Johnson on Doubles No. 1, 6-3, 2-6, 12-10. Clarkston tied with Birmingham Groves, 4-4, with two wins in Singles and Doubles. Banyas won his match on the Singles No. 3 court against Lucas Winchester, 6-2, 6-3; and Lamz won his match on Singles No. 4 against Tommy Fundaro, 7-5, 6-0.
Robison and Merritt defeated Anthony Gaggos and Ari Nikolavsky on Doubles No. 3, 6-1, 6-2; and Colin Whitecar and Ebling defeated Benji Cook and Evan Wright on the Doubles No. 4 court, 6-4, 0-6, 11-9.
The Wolves lost to Novi, 6-0, at the quad. The Wolves lost to Detroit Country Day, 8-1 at the Double Dual at Rochester, Aug. 24. Ebling and Manwaring won their match for Clarkston on the Doubles No. 5 court against Connor Kalkanis and Nathan Maibach, 8-6.
They also lost to Rochester, 8-1. Banyas won his match on the Singles No. 3 court against Gakuto Morikawa, 6-4.
The Wolves hosted Rochester Adams on Tuesday after this edition of the Clarkston News went to press and will head to the Traverse City Invitational on Friday.
