The Wolves opened their home game against Romeo with eight goals to take the lead in their 19-2 win last Thursday.
“It was good,” said Clarkston Boys Varsity Lacrosse Head Coach Brian Kaminskas. “We talked all week about playing our standard of ball and raising the standard of what we have been doing. They came out and did exactly that. We just got rolling and it looks good when they do it right.”
Hayden Arnold opened the score with 9:48 remaining in the first quarter. Within the next minute Sam Lightfoot and Jack Gurn added two more goals for a 3-0 lead.

Clarkston slowed down in the third quarter with one goal from Arnold. They picked up in the last quarter with five goals from Zaiden Green, Caden Ladd, Rayce Septer, Michael Ferman and Arnold.
“I think they just felt a little bit of excitement, accomplished and thought let’s have fun,” said Kaminskas.
Arnold led with six goals with three in the first quarter. Lightfoot scored four goals during the game.
Septer had two goals. Ryan Phyle, Evan McClorey and Braedyn Callahan had one goal each.
“Our goalies did well,” said Kaminskas. “Gavin Pate and Sam Lightfoot had another great game.”
He added offense had a good night.
“They are fast. They are athletic. They are smart,” Kaminskas said. “We are trying to move the ball and our feet as quickly as we can.”
Romeo scored with 28 seconds remaining in the first half and again with five minutes left in the third quarter.
The Wolves lost to Rockford on Saturday, 10-9.
“It was exactly what we expected – fast paced and physical, a little nasty even on both sides,” Kaminskas said, adding both teams are ranked in the top ten. “But, typical of what you are going to find at the top of the state rankings of lacrosse. It was exactly what they needed.”
Lighfoot had three goals. Harry Skinner had two goals and two assists. McClorey had two goals and one assist. Arnold had one goal and one assist and Callahan had one goal each. Miguel Need and Gurn had one assist each.
“Jack played extremely well and Harry played very well,” Kaminskas added.
Michael VanGilder had 12 saves in the net.
“Michael did an extremely good job,” said Kaminskas.
The Wolve have league play this week as they play Bloomfield Hills and Birmingham Consolidated.
They host Birmingham Consolidated on Thursday, Grand Ledge on Saturday and Rochester on Tuesday. The three games are scheduled to be held at Clarkston High School Stadium with JV at 5:30 p.m. and varsity at 7 p.m.
