The Varsity Boys and Girls Cross Country teams capped off their Flint Metro League season with victories over Lapeer East and West on Tuesday, Oct 6.
The Boys dominated Lapeer East and West, taking five out of the first six places, beating East 15-47 and West 15-46.
Junior Dylan Smith placed first for the boys with a time of 17:28. Freshman Ryan Gillespie’s time of 17:55 placed him second. Freshman Ross Chapman, Sophomore Alec Smith and Junior Curtis Kocher finished fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.
The boys finished 5-4 in their last season in the FML.
The girls beat East 23-34 and beat West 22-37.
Freshman Brooke Kovacic came in first place for the girls with a time of 20:26, and Freshman Ashley Burr followed in second with a 20:50.
Senior Kate Wolanin finished fifth, Junior Megan Seeley came in sixth and Freshman Abby Wrobel, who was new to the varsity squad, came in ninth.
The girls finished their final FML season at 7-2.
