Orion Area Youth Assistance held its annual breakfast meeting on Nov. 8, giving those involved a chance to learn about all the various OAYA programs.
‘The purpose is just to tell our sponsors what we’re doing and keep them informed,? said OAYA Caseworker Tom Swieboda.
On hand were officials from Lake Orion Community Schools and Orion Township, as well as Oakland County Youth Assistance Chief Mary Schusterbauer.
Swieboda started at OAYA in April of 2005 and said this is the second year they’ve done the breakfast.
The meeting also served as an opportunity to honor Ellen Thomerson, who Swieboda said has been volunteering with OAYA for over 20 years.
Thomerson will soon be moving to Colorado.
