Defeat over rivals on court

The Wolves fought the heat and cross town rivals Lake Orion last Thursday for a 9-0 win.
The Clarkston Boys Varsity Tennis team had four wins on the Singles courts with the following scores:
Luke Baylis defeated Julian Olejnik on Singles No. 1, 6-1, 6-3; Frankie Piana defeated Felix Partington on Singles No. 2, 6-2, 6-4; Jacob Burkett defeated Nick Palatka on Singles No. 3, 6-0, 6-1; Noah Fasczewski defeated Evan Smolinski, 6-1, 6-0.

The Wolves had five wins on the Doubles courts with the following scores:
Charlie Lussenhop and Jason Richards defeated Spencer Powell and Sean Donahue on Doubles No. 1, 6-1, 6-2; Logan Knowlson and Shane McArthur defeated Ty Selent and Aidan VanGessel on Doubles No. 2, 6-7 (1), 6-2, 6-3; Jed Horst and Max Meehan defeated Shayne Barkely and Caleb Campbell on Doubles No. 3, 1-6, 6-3, 7-6 (3); Adam Zentner and Evan Walsh defeated Adam Whitus and Alex Ribeiro on Doubles No. 4, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4; and Ike Yeloushan and Brendan Aughe defeated Sam Walker and Garrett Svoboda on Doubles No. 5, 6-2, 6-1.
“Lake Orion is a Clarkston arch rival and regional opponent. It is another team we need to do well against,” said Chas Claus, head coach, going into the match.
The Wolves opened the week against Troy. They host Bloomfield Hills on Thursday and Brother Rice on Tuesday.
“We are just trying to get better,” said Claus. “Every one of my players has the skills to do better.”
Both matches begin at 4 p.m.
