Splash to third in league

— Jordyn Coin finished in ninth place in the 1-meter diving event at the MHSAA Division 1 Girls Swim and Dive Championship at Eastern Michigan University, Nov. 17-18.
Coin scored a total of 345.55 points for the top ten finish. She qualified for the state finals, finishing in fifth place at the MHSAA Division 1 Regional 2 Dive competition at Bloomfield Hills High School with a total of 346.15 points, Nov. 9.The top 12 divers from the meet moved on to the state finals.
During the regional, Sarah Ostheimer finished in 16th place with 276.55 points; Sammie Carpentier, 19th, 205; Aubrey Zeiman, 27th, 114.9; Audrey Morgan, 30th, 110.5; Ellie Delude, 31st, 109.5; and Caroline Fletcher, 38th, 96.3.
The Clarkston Girls Swim and Dive team finished in third place during the OAA Blue League Meet at Clarkston High School, Nov. 1-3.
Finishing in the top eight in the individual events were: in the 50-yard freestyle event, Ella Johnson in third place in the time of 26.70; Calida Brown, sixth, 27.08; Sophia Love, seventh, 27.23; 100-yard butterfly, Johnson, fifth, 1:05.48; Caitlin McGivern, sixth, 1:10.74; Allison Danatzko, seventh, 1:13.80; 100-yard freestyle, Ella Kurmaniak, seventh, 1:00.16; 100-yard backstroke, Kurmaniak, seventh, 1:07.58; Avery Wood, eighth, 1:09.00; 100-yard breastroke, Brown, fifth, 1:20.56; Marion Walters, sixth, 1:21.31; 200-yard freestyle, Walters, fifth, 2:14.04; McGivern, seventh, 2:20.08; 200-yard IM, Bayla Zarzycki, eighth, 2:32.21; and 500-yard freestyle, Zarzycki, eighth, 6:12.94.
For relays, the team of Love, Johnson, Kurmaniak and Brown in the 200-yard freestyle relay finished in second place in the time of 1:49.41. The team of Wood, Zarzycki, Johnson and Brown finished in third place in the 200-yard medley relay, 2:03.23. The team of Love, Wood, Zarzycki and Kurmaniak finished in fourth place in the 400-yard freestyle relay, 4:09.83.
Finishing in the top eight in 1-meter diving were: Coin in third place with 393.90 points after 11 dives; Carpentier, fifth, 276.55; Morgan, seventh, 254.90; and Ostheimer, eighth, 244.8.
Bloomfield Hills finished the meet in first place with 642 points; Oxford, second, 450; Clarkston, third, 421; Troy Athens, fourth, 220; and Ferndale, fifth, 122.
The Wolves finished with a 4-2 record in the OAA Blue. They won their last two league meets against Ferndale on October 5, 150-28, and Troy Athens on October 12, 127-56.
