NOTICE OF FIRST READING OF THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE ZONING ORDINANCE BY REZONING THE LAND DESCRIBED BELOW ON THE WEST SIDE OF DIXIE HIGHWAY
FROM O OFFICE TO C-1 LOCAL COMMERCIAL

TO THE RESIDENTS AND PROPERTY OWNERS OF THE CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF INDEPENDENCE, OAKLAND COUNTY, MICHIGAN, AND ANY OTHER INTERESTED PERSONS:

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that at a regular meeting of the Charter Township of Independence Board of Trustees held on January 10, 2023, the Township Board approved a First Reading of a Zoning Ordinance Map Amendment to rezone a parcel located on the west side of Dixie Highway, north of Waterford Road, in Section 33 of the Township, commonly known as 5897 Dixie Highway, from O Office to C-1 Local Commercial. The Board authorized a Second Reading, following completion of the required legal documents and review by the Township’s general counsel.

A true copy of the Ordinance Amendment is on file and available for viewing between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at the Independence Township’s Clerk’s Office, 6483 Waldon Center Drive, Clarkston, Michigan 48346.
